Harry Lock – a curious man with a camera

October 22nd, 2020

Harry Lock has been the official photographer for the Durban international Blues Festival

For many years now and we thank him for his commitment and willingness to be part of our team.

Durban International Blues Festival

Every year, blues fans in Durban are treated to a week-long festival of blues music. I began photographing the festival in 2010 and look forward to it as much as those hardened blues fans.

HARRY resides in Hillcrest and can be contacted on or  +27 (0)825760199 or find him on FB Harry Lock or visit

KULUMA TV – putting it out there on the big screen!

October 22nd, 2020

Mike Cornali and Quintin White are the creative team behind Kuluma TV  and both have walked the walk with the Durban International Blues Festival over the years, as individual videographers and producers.

But now they form a formidable team and will be responsible for the Creative Filming and Footage behind various aspects of this year’s event- but most importantly- it will be their professional abilities which will BRING THE 2020 INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS TO OUR EVENT!

Covid restricts travel as we know! With clever “tweaking and cutting to the cloth” the festival organizers will still be bringing a selection of international guest artists to the nightly events.

With Live performances, blow-you-away blues and kind words, the likes of Liz Mandeville (USA), Yamil Jacobo (Argentina), Fiona Boyes (Aus) Pat Savage (Canada), Toronzo Cannon(USA), Donna Herula (USA)to name a few will indeed grace “the stage” at the Rhumbelow Theatre  from 4th to 6th December this year.

With a great line up of local and loved blues artists nightly to share the stage with them – you best get your tickets before it’s too late, remembering that the venue has to operate under strict Covid Protocol so seating is limited.
